Solid State Relays
Solid State Relays Din Rail Mount SSR's and SCR's Solid State Relays provide a superior alternative to mercury relays, electro-mechanical relays and contactors. They contain no moving parts or hazardous materials. They are available with integral chassis heat sinks to cool the semiconductors by natural convection. These utilize high voltage SCR's for the utmost in reliability. The Solid State Relays utilize zero voltage switching techniques for noise free switching as compared to the switching of mercury or electro-mechanical relay. The SSR's are also available with a 4-20 ma d.c. proportional phase angle control or phase angle manual control from a potentiometer.
Optional Heat Sink
Low Cost
For 120/208/240 VAC Applications requiring manual control of voltage by a potentiometer w/0-100% dial or ON/OFF temperature control with voltage limiter.
Ideally suited for "phase angle" control of resistance loads such as heater bands or incandescent lamps. The phase angle control provides a smooth steady voltage to the heater instead of the on/off switching action of a zero crossover switching relay. The load voltage is proportionally adjusted by the manual potentiometer.
*Note: The Model SSRV is also available for 480VAC operation at currents up to 100 Amps.
Note: Add for
power module with heat sink rated
current 1
Note: ON/OFF or time proportioning temperature control using SMART-2 Digital Temperature Controller and Model SSRV Variable SCR Module to limit the maximum voltage to the heater load. The SSRV 0-100% manual control is set to the desired maximum voltage to be applied to the heater. The temperature controller then switches the manual control potentiometer On and Off at the desired voltage as set on the 0-100% dial. If the power source is 120 VAC and it is desired to limit the heater voltage to 60 VAC, the 0-100% dial is then set
